Audubon Zoo-To-Do for Kids presented by Children’s Hospital New Orleans

Audubon Nature Institute is excited to host the 35th annual Zoo-To-Do for Kids, presented by Children’s Hospital New Orleans, on April 26, 2024. Zoo-To-Do for Kids is Audubon’s spring fundraiser for the entire family, featuring snacks and sips from New Orleans favorites, inflatables, live animal encounters, arcade games, and so much more!

This year’s Zoo-To-Do events will celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the historic Odenheimer Complex at Audubon Zoo. Built in 1924, the domed structure at the Complex’s center was the original Audubon Aquarium and one of the early Zoo’s most popular attractions. Throughout the years, the complex has been expanded to incorporate more exhibits and attractions, including Audubon’s Reptile Encounter and Wings of the World. In 2024, Audubon Zoo will begin renovations on the Odenheimer rotunda to ensure that its history is preserved and allow families to continue making memories for years to come.

The 2024 Zoo-To-Do events will also highlight Audubon’s Louisiana pine snake conservation efforts. The Louisiana pine snake is one of the rarest snakes in the United States due to a rapid decline in population from habitat loss. Since 2000, Audubon has contributed to the Louisiana Pine Snake Conservation and Recovery Program, helping repopulate this native reptile. Since joining these efforts, Audubon’s reptile team has successfully hatched hundreds of endangered Louisiana pine snakes and released them into the wild.

Party Highlights for Zoo-To-Do for Kids 2024 include: – Live Entertainment and music by Sugar Shaker – Inflatables, Obstacle Courses, and Games – Audubon Animal Ambassadors – Access to the Audubon’s Reptile House and Wings of the World – Snacks & Sips from local restaurants included in the price of admission.
