Wheels in Motion WCMX/Skate Competition: A First for Louisiana

The first-ever Wheels in Motion WCMX/Skate Competition is set to take place on October 12th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wentwood Playground Skatepark in Kenner, LA. The event is coordinated by Tony Torres, president of TNT 360 Mobility, a WCMX athlete and event organizer for the S.M.C.L. Foundation & Associates Inc., who is working to grow the WCMX/Skate program in Louisiana.

Athletes participating in the October 12th competition will also be entered into the International Wheelchair Sports (IWS) online contest, with videos of their runs submitted as part of the World WCMX Series governed by the newly formed World WCMX Federation. This global online contest, running from September through October, is an incredible opportunity for athletes to showcase their skills on an international stage.

The event culminates in an online streaming event in November, with the top competitors invited to participate in the World WCMX Championship, held on December 7th at City Walk Skatepark in Birmingham, Alabama. With the online contest open to athletes worldwide, this is a unique chance for fans to discover new talent and meet the next wave of WCMX athletes.

Tony Torres and collaborative organizations are excited to bring this dynamic sport to Kenner and hope the event will inspire more athletes to get involved in WCMX and adaptive skating.

Sponsorship and vendor opportunities are available, and all skateboarders of all abilities are welcome to participate.
